PART ELEVEN
"THE STORY"

The quad sat along with Sofia in one of the school huts.
“It’s nice to finally meet you guys. I’ve been following your page and I was thrilled on what I’ve been seeing. I’m impressed on how you guys get your research quickly and when you called me, I knew, my side of the story had been dogged up” Sofia beamed an interesting smile
“Wait! your side?” Eli was shocked at her statement “how did you know our story is about Jeremy and Malia”?
“Yeah how did you know?” Alex asked
“First of, I added each story you laid on your page, and patched it up myself and secondly ‘Maremy’… common. It’s too easy. And it suits it”
“Ahh ahnn!” Quinn snapped excitedly “I told you it was a nice name”
A little laugh went round and Tony spoke out
“So…how did you come across Jeremy? We found out you guys were pretty close immediately you transferred to the school in your second year”
Sofia gave an astonished laugh “you guys really did some digging” she adjusted herself on the pew-like slab and continued
“Mmm… I and Jeremy were…what’s the word…” she twisted her lips in search of a good word “let’s just say high school sweetheart. We liked each other so much, we were like the perfect couple. We were in the same class and our mates would always comment on how good we were together. We had our differences, our ups and downs but we were together for a pretty long time, to the extend I was kind of fantasizing a future with him”
The quad was stunned
“And how many years did the relationship last” Eli asked
“For three years. Most times, I do remember the happy moments we always had. Sometimes I still wish that perfect fantasy of mine would come alive”
“I know what you mean” Quinn muttered as she gazed at Tony who has been holding Eli’s hands since their gathering at the hut
Ever since Eli’s mum had her successful blood exchange transfusion, Tony has felt obligated to always stay by Eli’s side and has shown even more concern for her
Sofia’s eyes sighted Tony’s left palm that seemed glued to that of Eli’s
“How long have you guys been together, if you don’t mind me asking” she looked towards Tony and Eli
The lovers gazed at each other with a smile which seemed like Tony gave her a go-ahead to answer
“A year now…but we have come a long way though”
Sofia gave a cute smile “of course, 365days is a lot “
Quinn decided to break the love talk “so you guys have been friends even till date?”
“Yea, we are still pretty cool”
“How come, even after you knew he was dating Malia, I mean, didn’t she feel threatened by you especially after you made out with Jeremy and she caught you guys”
“Oh… that. I don’t know if she felt threatened but she handled it pretty well and besides, Jeremy and I have been an item and pretty close friends for a long time even before she came into the picture, she has no right to just tell us to cut off.”
“mmm.. sweetie, actually she does” Eli jumped in “I mean she caught you making out with her boyfriend, even if she wanted to act matured about the scenario, you were over stepping your boundaries, not just as Jeremy’s ‘friend’ but for the fact that Jeremy is her boyfriend” Eli felt pissed off
“Probably your consistent relationship with Jeremy gave room for their breakup” Alex chipped into the rivalry
“What! Heck no” Sofia proclaimed
“I and Jeremy were still friends even when he was still dating and Malia was fine with it. She knew about it. Even after what happened between I and Jeremy.”
“What!?”
The quad where flabbergasted and stunned
“Look here is a pic of the three of us at a camp out”
Sofia showed the Quad a picture of the three of them in her phone but with an additional face which was believable because Malia gave a voluntary pose in it”
“Who is the guy in the pic” Alex had to asked
“I don’t know him so much, I met him at the camp out also. He got along pretty well with Malia. It didn’t feel weird though, she seemed to know and get along with a lot of people at the camp. She is a pretty much lovable person and she’s pretty friendly and painfully, it was an opener that I couldn’t win over her for Jeremy’s love…”
“Then if your consistent friendship with Jeremy isn’t the reason for the break up, what is?” Quinn asked curiously and confused
“To be honest, I have no clue myself. I have asked Jeremy same question when I figured out they weren’t together again but he would either snap at me in anger, avoid the question like I never brought it up or even avoid me if I mistakenly mention her name to his hearing. It’s like it triggers this hidden hurt or hatred of her inside him. I couldn’t believe Jeremy could ever behave that way concerning Malia but deep down, I know his heart still has something for her, because most times when we are together, it’s like everything he sees, smells or touch would remind him of her, but the hatred always comes up immediately and snatches the moment from him”
When I figured out that it upsets him, I decided to dump every conversation about Malia, so at least I wouldn’t see his hurt or anger”
“And does that work” Quinn asked
“No... it’s like the more he distance himself from Malia and anything concerning her, a new sad, miserable, restless Jeremy is created. I guess that’s why he is doing the interviews with you guys, because recently, I’ve been seeing some changes and it started when he started talking to you guys. You aren’t the only ones who carry out researches you know”
“Did he tell you anything?” Tony asked “about our interviews with him and maybe anything new?”
“No…Jeremy is still kind of distance, but its way better than before. Since he made a phrase”
He said “I’m trying to see if I can loosen the bag of the cat…”
I tried patching that phrase together for days and I realized it had something to do with the saying ‘
Let the cat out of the bag” I figured he wanted to finally loosen up on what he knows. So after stumbling upon your page and your story, I knew you guys had something to do with it.”
“So it seems Jeremy wants to talk about it” Alex said
“But sometimes he is reluctant” Eli added
“Maybe because whatever is behind all this is still hard for him to take in” Quinn added from her corner
“it’s hard for both of them” Sofia said “you guys shouldn’t think Jeremy is the only one going through a lot because Malia isn’t showing hers, they both know about your page and you guys releasing their story out to the world, they both are restless one way or the other and they seem to see your interviews as a way to relief themselves

“What the…” Jeremy exclaimed at the library while using Sofia’s laptop
“This guys have been uploading everything” Jeremy couldn’t hide his shock
“What’s that?” Sofia asked from his side curious about his shocking expression. She tried getting a glimpse of what he saw on the screen but he wouldn’t let her
“What’s that? You do know it’s my laptop and I take it from you at any time right?”
Jeremy hesitated
“It’s nothing Sofy”
”I’m trying to see if I can loosen the bag of the cat” he soliloquized
“What did you say…?” Sofia asked for a repetition
“Never mind. “
He plundered on the interest of so many comments …”

“Besides to be honest everyone is pretty much following your story. Most people wanna see how it ends and the reason behind the mysterious division between them. And I must confess I’m part of them, that’s one of the more reasons I concurred to this meeting”
“I didn’t know we have gone that far into the heart of the school” Tony exclaimed
“That means it’s high time we step up our game” Quinn said “we got a lot of curious minds to feed now
“You got that one right. I hope I’ve been of help, cause now I gatto go. My ride is here” Sofia said as she took off after receiving a text.
