PART NINE
"THE STORY"

Alex phone rang loudly, that he opened his eyes in fright from the bed
He groaned loudly unseeing the video caller ID
“Whattt” he groaned after picking the call
“What are you doing?” Quinn asked
“What do you think people do at 1am in the morning?” Alex asked piqued
“Quinn could you just tell us why you are doing a multi video call at this time of the night” Eli tried rubbing off the sleep from her eyes. She remembered drenching herself to sleep in sleeps before 12am
“Sorry guys, I just found something, and I just couldn’t wait till dawn”
“So what’s so important” Tony asked with a clear voice. With the sound of his voice, it obvious to the trio he wasn’t asleep before the call
Tony was still up doing research before the call came in
“So it’s about the Maremy story. After our last encounter with them yesterday, I went ahead to do some more research and you won’t believe what I found out”
“Just tell us so we could go back to sleep” Alex muttered
“geez Alex, thanks for your curiosity” Quinn responded sarcastically
“Well I found out that amidst the so called love Jeremy had for Malia, after they officially started dating, about three months later, Malia caught Jeremy making out on her”
“What!” the trio exclaimed together coincidentally
“Exactly my reaction” Quinn exclaimed
“But how could he do such a thing, after everything they had” Tony asked stunned
“That hurts” Eli added “I mean, that’s would have been pretty hurtful for Malia to bear, feeling Jeremy is just like every other guy who just wants to use her and then buzz off”
“Common I don’t think so” Tony jumped in “I mean you all have listened to his records, every time he talks about Malia, you would know he still has feelings for her somewhat”
“But he cheated on her either ways and the guy forbids himself from mentioning her name” Quinn laid down the obvious “I mean who does that?”
“I am going to stick with Tony on this one because there could be something else then” Alex went over to the table placing his phone to lean on the wall
“I have been going through the records especially Jeremy’s and there’s something I can’t seem to place well. Before the story about love on the hill, I listened to Jeremy’s record about their argument and something always went off when he complained about Malia’s behavior at some point”
“Something off in what way” Eli’s curiosity took over again
“Okay listen to this”
Alex played the recorder for the trio to listen
“…because she tends to play naive most times! She does things recklessly. And in the process she tends to shut everyone out. She never listens!” he snapped “she is a kind of person who takes decisions on her own, she just doesn’t sit to think of how it affects others…she just goes for it. She….”
“It sounded like he was really angry with something she did” Quinn laid down her belief
“Yess, but nooo… he kept switching back and forth. He said she does things recklessly. What does he mean by that? Just because a lady keeps to herself a lot doesn’t mean it should be tagged as reckless”. “He also said ‘…she never listens, a kind of person who takes decisions on her own and doesn’t care how it affects others…’ common guys you should know better. I know something is off here. What has a lady who keeps to herself a lot have to do with taking decisions that would affect others? He felt angrier remembering something”
The quad had their confused faces on
“So could that be the reason for the break up? If there was another misunderstanding?” Eli asked being confused
“That’s the main question” Tony responded “the argument that happened before ‘love on the hill’ was sorted out because if it hurt him so bad, he wouldn’t have decided to continue with the relationship”
“Exactly!” Alex popped in “meaning it had nothing to do with that argument before ‘love on the hill’. It happened way after, and it must have been disastrous since he can’t even put himself to mention her name” Alex clarified the air
“Then could it be about the making out?” Eli asked looking tired and more confused
“Naaa…” Tony responded “if someone was to be angry about that scenario, it should be Malia”
Alex took his phone back to the bed “So meaning if anything is the cause of their breakup it’s either the mystery reason why Jeremy is angry with Malia or it’s linked with the cheat from Malia’s side”
“I don’t think it’s linked to the cheat” Quinn spoke up “because I did more research on that and I found out, the cheat scenario happened eight month after they met each other…”
“But they broke up eighteen months after they met” Eli finished up the sentence
“Exactly” Quinn concurred
“Are you kidding me, how did Malia get over the cheat scenario, because I know you ladies do no, I repeat, do not handle a cheat well” Alex sounded curious directing the question to Quinn
“I don’t know. But it seems she handled it pretty well”
“Naaa… noo lady can handle such that well” Eli confessed
“Well history has been made by our dear sweet Malia. I did dig deep and hard though and I came across the Medical Students Report Team {MSRT}” Quinn said scrolling through her laptop beside her phone “turns out, when Maremy were still a couple after the cheat. The MSRT published a story on a get-together some of the medical students had. Turns out Jeremy brought Malia along. It seems their relationship had gone like wild as everyone seemed to comment on how lovely they were together and when people heard about the cheat, it went wilder like a strange fire. The anchor of the get-together commented on their relationship and…complimented Malia on how well she handled the matter and the fact that they were still strong and together”
“Wait they never broke up” Eli was astounded
“Yup. They didn’t shake”
“Dehm!” Alex was over whelmed “then if making out wasn’t a good reason to have a breakup, then what caused it must be really bad”
Serenity danced through the quad as thoughts for a next move engulfed their brains
“Quinn were you able to get a clue on who the lady is” Alex broke the silence
“Nooo…I couldn’t get anything”
“Okay, no worries, I’ll get to work on that myself. Let’s just meet as early as possible at the center tomorrow”
“You mean today” Quinn said
“Yeah…I meant today. Then we would lay down everything we got.”
“Alright guys, good night” Tony said as he went off first
