“I think your question should be what happened before that” Malia said

Malia waited for Sofia at an eatery close to the school area after Sofia called for a meet up

“I hope I didn’t keep you waiting for too long” Sofia took her seat

“I finally get to meet the Sofia” Malia said pleasantly discarded her statement

“Excuse me” Sofia was confused

“Jeremy has told me a lot about you. He told me you are a very good friend of his and trust me I have been willing to meet you but anything I request we meet up so he could introduce us he always postpones it”

“Really” Sofia was intrigued “so what else did he tell you”

“That you guys attended the same high school and were pretty close friends, and you even dated”

“Oh really, he went that far. Then I guess he also told you we dated for three good and lovely years and we were really happy together” 

Sofia drew a smirk to Malia’s expression

After a sight silence, Malia smiled “well I guess the past belongs in the past right. “

Sofia gasped in pride “well Malia I know you are a clever girl and it’s obvious you would have always asked Jeremy about our past …”

“Actually I didn’t” Malia caught her in “I wasn’t in Jeremy’s past so I have no reason to dwell in his past. Only if he wants to open up to me about something important and so far nothing. I’m part of his present right now and probably even his future and that’s where my gaze and attention is”

“Oh really, but you forget the past can always affect the present and even the future” Sofia leaned forward “I have dated Jeremy for over three years, I transferred to this college so we would be closer. I stood by him even before you came into the picture.”

“Jeremy is still in love with me and I know you know it, you are just clouding his head. But I’m here to clear it off, so listen and listen good Miss Malia Williams, I have come too far and risked a lot for Jeremy just to let him go on a platter of gold. I know Jeremy way better than you can imagine, and because you had the privilege to know him for a few months, you think you got a chance?”

“I am not letting Jeremy go especially without a fight” Sofia continued “so I advise you back off. I know you are a smart lady, so don’t try and play games with me because you won’t win” 

Sofia gave a self-satisfying smile towards Malia as she stood up to take her leave

“mmm.. Sofia” Malia called softly, beckoning on Sofia who turned towards her “you can’t win a game if you are not a player, cause this game is just for two and three is just a crowd”
